Street Jam

Street Jam

Street Jam is a basketball event held every summer in Tampere promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.

This was my first time working with a non-profit event, the process was very nice, it was a concept I wanted to support. My contact person from the Street Jam Crew was familiar with coding and WordPress, so it was easy for me to introduce WordPress to him.

Street Jam is aimed primarily at a young crowd so the visual look and accessibility were very important. The main things the website needed were:

  • Schedule of the matches
  • Registration form for the different teams to different leagues
  • Photo Gallery

The main challenge we faced was time. We had roughly 2 weeks to get a new website up and running. For this project I worked around-the-clock to finish the design and functions in time.

The process of changing the register and hosting company was a bit complicated because the company where Street Jam previously had the domain and hosting had limited working hours and we couldn’t get a quick answer from them. My recommendation for all my clients is Siteground for hosting, it is one of the best ones in business with a 24/7 online support. Once we switched to Siteground, we had the website live in a matter of hours.
